Trying to find a reasonably priced flight for a last-minute meeting in Oshawa, Ontario was not in the cards. Airline ticket prices from Halifax to Toronto were as high as the airplane flying the route.
How about driving? Garry suggests.
A 1,700-kilometre drive from Halifax to Oshawa is daunting. Even – dare I say it – a waste of time.
Garry, the road trip king, reasons: Once you factor in the 45-minute drive to the airport, arriving at the airport two hours before the flight, the two-and-a-half hour flight, the time to get out of the airport into a cab, then the 90-minute drive out to Oshawa, you might as well drive from Halifax.

“If we left home and drove for that chunk of time,” Garry proposes, “we would almost be at the New Brunswick/Quebec border with a mere 1,000 km left to drive.”
Mere?
Although I had my reservations, part of me was looking forward to a road trip.
Besides the meeting, we also needed to deliver a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse back to Oshawa.
But what about all the work I won’t get done because I can’t sit at my desk?
Well, the Chevrolet Traverse is equipped with a wonderful wifi hotspot. Wowee!

Available in all Chevrolet vehicles, the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot provides a 4G LTE Internet connection that’s fast, reliable and more powerful than a smartphone or mobile hotspot. You can connect up to seven mobile devices at the same time. Surf, post, stream and game at will. From up to 4.5 metres away.

2022 Chevrolet Traverse – the ultimate mobile office
It turns out the Traverse is the ultimate mobile office. The seven-passenger people-and-stuff mover offers comfort and spaciousness. A few touches of luxury, like leather seats, heated steering wheel and power lumbar, add some class to our drive. Two sun roofs make a bright and airy interior. It’s like a top-floor corner office in here with an ever-changing view.

The RS trim, with red stitching on the inside and blacked out wheels at the corners, gives the Traverse an understated, sporty look. I think it’s one of the more handsome three-row SUVs out there. Especially in luscious Cherry Red paint. 🍒

And that wifi hotspot. Wow! I got so much work done. We had driven through two provinces before the flight would have touched down at Toronto’s Pearson airport. Only two more to go. Way to go, wifi.
