East Coaster of the Day

1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe

They say the first two years in business are the hardest. Kyle Caudle and his team have successfully pushed through not just the first two years but the first two decades of running their automotive audio and accessory business. In business since 1996 and just recently moved into a new showroom, they definitely know what they’re doing at Creative Auto Images in Truro.

This is their Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe, a culmination of countless nights, hard work and plenty of elbow grease. Less than 28,000 miles have spun up on its 55-year old odometer, with the original 283 and two-speed Powerglide still pushing the big bowtie down the road. That’s also the factory paint and interior, if you’re wondering.

One doesn’t stay successful in the car racket for twenty-five years without making a few smart decisions. The road leading to this Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe has been one of building and trading cars, one for the other, until the opportunity to buy this Chevy presented itself. Thanks to money made on those previous rides, Kyle doesn’t owe one single penny on this bronze beauty.

He’s quick to point out that he has kept the car’s original wheels and tires for historical purposes, preferring to run his daily drives on modern rubber. Sounds like another smart decision to us.

Affectionately called “Survivor” by Kyle and the gang, this Chevrolet joins a couple of other GM classics in their stable, which you may see in this ‘East Coaster of the Day’ space in the future.

Successfully pushing through? You bet they are.
