2020 Lincoln Aviator: An artist’s view of elegance and sophistication

After spending time in the 2020 Lincoln Aviator, a midsize crossover in the luxury brand’s lineup, my thoughts of Lincoln have dramatically transformed. The 2020 Aviator is a very attractive and sophisticated vehicle. And I can now remember Lincoln’s vehicle names. Numbers and letters mean nothing to me. Names do.

As I stepped into the Aviator, my first thought was Sherlock Holmes visiting his elder brother Mycroft’s The Diogenes Club – an environment of very quiet elegance. I should mention this Aviator sports a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the very antithesis of the indolent Mycroft.

For me, the optimal way to experience a vehicle is to cruise sections of my favourite highway, the Nova Scotia Lighthouse Route. Starting in Lunenburg, the highway hugs the rugged Atlantic coast right until Halifax.

As an artist and designer, I look at vehicles as art and design. So, here is the Aviator through the eyes of the lens and the artist.

As they say, a picture is worth at least a thousand words.
